Emotion and Executive Functioning
Executive functioning consists of high-level thought, including holding information in mind, preventing unwanted behaviors, or rapidly changing mental mind-sets. Our goal is to examine how emotions influences executive functioning. Executive functioning is a coordinated set of (mostly) independent processes (shifting, working memory, inhibition), and we want to see if emotion influences this network. If emotions do influence the network, how does the network function when in a happy compared to a sad state?
